Files you process

Several Modyfiles tools, including image editing, favicon generation, and metadata removal, run entirely in your browser. Those files are never uploaded to our servers at all.

Other tools, such as PDF, audio, and some document conversions, need to process your file on our servers. In that case, the file is uploaded temporarily, processed, made available for you to download, and then automatically deleted, no later than 24 hours after upload. We do not read, share, sell, or use the contents of your files for any purpose other than performing the operation you requested.

Account data

If you create an account, we store:

• Your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text)
• Your display name and username
• Optional profile details you add yourself, such as country and timezone
• Your current plan and usage counts, so we can enforce plan limits

If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google to create or link your account. We don't post to your Google account or access anything beyond that basic profile information.

Anonymous use

You can use Modyfiles without an account for a limited number of operations. To enforce that limit, we track a combination of your IP address and a browser cookie. We don't use this for advertising or profiling, only to apply the free usage limit fairly.

Payment information

If you upgrade to a paid plan, your payment is handled by our payment processor. We do not store your card number on our servers.

Third parties

We don't run advertising trackers or sell your data to third parties. The only external services we rely on are Google (for optional sign-in) and our payment processor (for optional paid plans).

Your choices

You can update your profile details or delete your uploaded files' effects at any time by contacting us. You can also request that we delete your account and associated data entirely.
